If you don't read another thing about Islam in 2009, or 2010, or anything at all from my blog, please let this one post be your last.

The New English Review explains in language so simple that even liberals can understand it that our countrymen are not dying in Afghanistan for nothing.
Nor for Big Oil; nor for Tony Blair; nor for the New World Order whatever its manifestations.

It's hard to convince people of the danger. Some of the comments over my way are incredibly naive.
Very interesting, thank you. I particularly liked #22 which likens Western aid to Danegeld with the addition that because we give it now, we must always give it in future. Perhaps in the same way that Moslems believe that all will not be well until all those lands that have previously been Moslem become Moslem again.
I previously came across many of these 25 ideas in a book titled " What Went Wrong " ( 'the clash between Islam and modernity in the middle east' ) Bernard Lewis, Weidenfield & Nicholson isbn 0 297 82929 7 which was published in 2002, just before the overthrow of Hussein.
James, yes. The dhimmi reflex never ceases to amaze me. My most rational of friends lead off on the 'It's unrepresentative and only one narrow band of Islam' tack pretty much every time - as if they're afraid that referring to the savage 1300-year history of mainstream Islam will somehow lead to the rest of us lynching Muslims or setting up death camps as a result of reading this stuff. Incredible.
The notion of Islam as soppy Anglicanism with coriander is the fig leaf they place over the bloody heart of the ideology.
Banned, thank you, too. 'That if once you have paid him the Danegeld You never get rid of the Dane ' doesn't seem to have hit the brains of our historically ignorant rulers.
That book looks like a good one.
Amazoned to my wish list, thanks.
