Short intermission

I have been much encouraged recently by a dozen or so kind commentators on my blog, such as CherryPie, Ubermouth and others to whom I can’t link today, and also I have been long inspired by the likes of these largely political sites; House of Dumb, Ambush Predator, Ranting Stan, Unenlightened Commentary, UK Commentators, Archbishop Cranmer, Nourishing Obscurity,

It's been suggested that there should be one-stop shop for information about people campaigning to preserve this country's freedoms and character rather than finding out what's going on from random [favourite] blogs.

We all pretty much share the same antagonists as they destroy what they can’t subvert of our culture and its virtues.

I’m vain enough to try, and so I’m going to spend some time setting up a freedom and country notice-board.

There’s a price to everything, and that price is time.
As my employers plan to remove my works internet permission at the end of the month, but not my email, TJAT may have to have fewer posts for a while until I get its sister site up and running.

I'll try to write stuff at work in plain and email it home for evening posting, but much of my blogging evenings will have to be for the notice board blog for a while.

I’ll do my best as I feel I’m getting somewhere [arrogance again no doubt!] and there appears to be a browser problem that might require buying some software which will slow things down further.

I hope to be back to my masked obscenities and circumlocutions of rage for what our rulers are doing to this beautiful country and world as soon as I can.

That would be excellent!

It's difficult to find viable and serious petitions campaigning to preserve our various freedoms. The NO 10 Petition Site is a complete waste of time as we all know.

The last campaign for "disclosure of MP's expenses" was a roaring success simply because it was co-ordinated so well.

Everyone knew where to go and what to do.

Perhaps we can win back a few more of our rights if we are organised in one place.

I agree, that would be a really good idea!

I'm not sure if this one qualifies, but it's grown by over 2,000 members in two days.

Would be best at the weekend though and then just using your "spam" account!

Also A Very British Dude has pointed out that there is a petition on Number 10 calling for Mr Browns resignation.

"Submitted by Keith Jones of Taxpaying Pensioner without political affiliation – Deadline to sign up by: 27 June 2009 – Signatures: 740"

Sue, thank you.
This kind of thing is exactly what I'm looking for.
They'll go on the picketing and shouting page of the new site.

And thanks for 'following' TJAT: it's very encouraging.

The page cannot be found message comes up for The Register link, but the Facebook and Very British Dude ones are fine.

"Word verification?"
Huh?

The word verification is the word (in slightly skewed leters) that you need to type into a box to post a comment (thus proving you are a human being, and not an auomated funcion). Also called a 'Turing word' or 'Turing test'...

If you are signed in to your blog, you won't see it when you comment. Sign out, and it'll appear for you too.

If you don't want the word verification turned on for your blog it can be turned off if you go onto your user settings page.
