Hate in a cold climate

And here we go.

"At Utoeya, the water is still being searched for more victims," deputy police chief Roger Andresen told reporters.
"We have no more information than... what has been found on [his] own websites, which is that it goes towards the right and that it is, so to speak, Christian fundamentalist."

It’s still only Saturday morning as I start writing this so the truth behind the awful facts of this unforgivable slaughter is by no means clear, but if this part of the report is true, or plausibly held to be true for a media moment, then the evil acts of this individual and any confederates will certainly be used as ammunition by the world’s Islam-coddling Left to defame and smear anyone and everyone who has said anything critical of Islam as it is practiced throughout much of the world.

You can almost hear their nastist representatives thiking; "At last! An islamophobic hate-crime we can finally get to work with."

Folk like Mark Steyn, Robert Spencer, Geert Wilders, Daniel Pipes, David Horowitz, Melanie Phillips will be held up as the bloody-handed creators of a ‘climate of hate’ against Muslims.  Anders Behring Breivik acted with all this in mind, they will say and that's why they must be made to recant and apologise and finally be silenced.
All this despite none of the above critics of Islam ever having called for, upheld, supported when it occurred (when before today?), suggested or even hinted that murderous or merely thuggish violence against Muslims (other than on the battlefields in Islam’s many current wars against everyone else) was in any way a good idea. Only our side’s words are ever inflammatory… if rather slow acting, thank God.

#  ‘Anti-islamophobia’ measures will be urged even more fervently by all Left-thinking people to censor free speech such as reporting on the thousands of atrocities committed each year by Muslims in the name of Islam according to their holy texts that insist on a permanent war of conquest and oppression against all unbelievers and its founder’s words and deeds and suspicious silences.

# The whole resistance to Islamic terrorism, including, but not limited to, Fox News, the Daily Mail, the EDL, FrontPage Magazine, the American Spectator,  will be ceaselessly slandered and libeled by the BBC and the usual suspects at the Guardian, Independent, New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Posts, et bloody cetera as purveyors of this climate of hate.

Question: if the free world, with its Judeo-Christian inheritance is equally as immoral as Islam, why has it taken nearly ten years since 9/11 for an actual, genuine, smoking-gun Christian Right-winger to murder people due to the ‘climate of hate’? What are we nutty Islamophobics doing wrong to be such slow-coaches? Can our culture be merely tardy, or is there something missing in the make-up of our civilization that makes this kind of unconscionable horror a blessed rarity, and indeed unique up until today since 9/11. Why did we Western jihadist-like killers take so long on the trail of Jihadist attack and vengeful counter-attack get so cold?

# Christianity and Islam will be presented together as morally equivalent and therefore equally harmful and suspect. Remember, the far Left doesn’t actually like Islam, it is just supporting it in order to demoralize the free world by weakening our will to resist the Caliphate and demonizing the faith set up by the person who said this:.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Blood-thirsty stuff, that,  and so it’s easy to see how so many Christians in the past have used these words to persecute outsiders and each other. No doubt, the Left (and Islamists worldwide) will reply that selective choice of texts like the above can’t help explain the fully-justified violence that Islam instructs its followers to use against all unbelievers in perpetuity.

I’d love to see Jesus’ equivalent phrases to the infamous sword verse At-Tawba 5:

…translated into English by the western Islamic Scholar, Marmaduke Pickthall as:

“Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.([Qur'an 9:5]) ”

Maulana Abdullah Yusuf Ali has translated the verse as:

“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Muslim scholar Ibn Kathir's commentary on the verse is:

“Do not wait until you find them. Rather, seek and besiege them in their areas and forts, gather intelligence about them in the various roads and fairways so that what is made wide looks ever smaller to them. This way, they will have no choice, but to die or embrace Islam."

I wonder which of the above translations the 9/11 terrorists thought was the authentic one, or the 7/7 bombers, or the 21/7 would-be bombers or the 2007 London Bombings or the Glasgow Airport self-barbecuing bombers, or the Mumbai attackers, or…

Or thousands of others, not one nor or all of which can ever justify or lessen yesterday’s atrocities.

Stipulate, if Anders Behring Breivik is a Christian and if he acted somehow in support of Christianity or against supporters of multiculturalism, he did so by violating Christianity's essential meaning and by going against the words of its founder and almost all its scriptures (but have fun reading Revelations to find something nasty, if you like.)
He’s a sinner, (if he’s found to be the guilty at all), a murderer, a violator of what most of Christianity has preached (if its leaders for sure did not always practice!) for most of its history and especially today.

If criticism of Islamic terrorism is seen as the ultimate culprit, and the West as similarly blood-thirsty as the constant terrorism of Hamas, al Qaida, the Taliban, Hezbollah,  the good-natured machete-wielding crowd that threatened death to the teacher whose pupils had named a teddy bear after their classmate who was called Mohamed, and if that climate has made many Muslims ‘suspicious’ of the Western world’s motives, ‘unwilling to condemn terrorism’ from their own camp and inclined to support Jihadist attacks abroad, is this evil in Norway its Western mirror image?

Is it the politically-correct, multi-cultural ‘climate’ of supporting Muslims in the West over and above the natives in all disputes, of political show trials that persecute those who dare to discuss and criticize Islam, that denies and disguises the motives of Islamic killers in our own countries, that have created a climate that provoked this man somehow to massacre people in the defence of his (and our), common European civilization? Can he use this persecution to mitigate his crimes perhaps, as Islamic apologists do to fend of condemnations of real-world Islam?

No bloody way.
He’s a free human being
The murders did not ‘happen’ - he decided to kill many other human beings. He’s responsible.
He chose to do murder (if he is one day found guilty),, and chose to put his own beliefs above the lives of rights of others and in so doing . He’s one evil human being and nobody and nothing apart from his own malign conscience prompted him to do murder.

But watch the feeding-frenzy the cultural Marxists are likely to make of this utter horror; freedom’s in for a rough righer ride than ever now.

Supplemental.

But the suspect, it seems, is no pure nationalist. Instead, he is said to be a right-wing extremist of the kind that police authorities in the West have feared for some time.
Their fear has been heightened by the potentially explosive mix of economic recession and unemployment, increasing racism and an ever stronger anti-Muslim sentiment, according to the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.
Norway's security police reported a mild increase in right-wing extremist activity last year and predicted that such activity would continue to increase throughout this year.

And

But at the same time, aspects of the far-right agenda have risen to greater prominence on the mainstream political arena, with Expo reporting how the revulsion displayed by the Swedish people during the 1990s is increasingly turning towards a curiosity about toned-down far-right rhetoric.
Similar sentiments have been felt in Norway, where politicians have openly been voicing concerns about how the country's culture might be diluted by immigration from countries with different religions and values.
Following the attacks in Oslo and on Utoeya, it will be interesting to see whether many in the country develop a more sophisticated view of where the greatest threats are coming from, amid a growing realisation that extremism is deadly regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion.

Norway's openness and lack of security is in large part a result of it having such a small, homogenous population. It seems paradoxical that an extremist who appears to have fanatically wanted to protect Norway from intruders and the "dangers" of multiculturalism would himself do such damage to the nation.
Norway is now forced to look at the less attractive facets of its society.
Media reports say the arrested man expressed sympathies for the Progress Party (FrP), Norway's most right-wing mainstream political party. For many years, the FrP has been steadily growing in popularity at the expense of the left-leaning Labour Party and the more moderate Conservative Party, although it is yet to win an election.
There are also citizens' websites like Document.no, where Anders Behring Breivik left racist, extremist right-wing comments along with fellow anti-Muslims, and there were attempts to start up Norwegian satellite groups in support of the English Defence League.
These all represent, with varying degrees of extremism, a section of the Norwegian population which feels that the country's immigration policies are too lax. They feel disenfranchised despite Norway's attempts at distributing fairly its immense oil wealth. Norway might now be forced to deal head-on with this undercurrent of nationalism and anti-immigration sentiments.
