Bigotry

Gordon Brown has been caught unawares calling a Labour-supporting pensioner who confronted him on the election campaign trail a "bigot".

Gillian Duffy, a 66-year-old widow, told the Prime Minister that she was concerned about immigration from Eastern Europe.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

I can't wait for the BBC to explain this away as 'a single error' or 'taken out of context' or come up with half a dozen examples of Tories saying worse.

This is the only piece of good news I've heard during the entire campaign.

So may I add an extra Ha?

Well she is a labour supporter. Bigot is only one of the labels I have.

btw : I'm sure she will still vote Labour.

James, that's the imperial Political Correct attitude when dealing with those who stray away from permitted topics of conversation.
Given that Labour deliberately imported millions of immigrants to impose a multi-racial reality on the rest of us, I'd say the mainstream media (less The Daily Mail and one or two other stalwarts) will play this one down, just as they did with the Andrew Neather
story.
Alas, we’re going to have to keep it alive somehow because resources are finite and the commitment to respect this country as a civilisation is about the only thing not being imported in large numbers.

Lord T, I’m not so sure. She can make a lot of money if she chooses to go to the papers with ‘My days and nights of immigrant hell.’ If she chooses not to let this ride, she can make a few quid in today’s febrile atmosphere of cheque book journalism. A sudden conversion to other voting intentions might be o the cards.

I'm with Lord T on this one: Mrs D will vote Labour next Thursday - and for the rest of her life. Anyone thick or bigoted enough to consider voting Labour in the first place (with the exception of those who are clearly voting in their own narrow self-interest ie the benefiterati, quango apparatchiks and public sector "workers" generally) is beyond redemption and that includes Mrs D.
