Sunday blasphemy hour

A hymn to and from our owners; our masters; our gods.

Immortal, invisible, State only wise,

In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,

Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,

Almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,

Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;

Thy justice like mountains high soaring above

Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all life thou givest to both great and small;

In all life thou livest, the true life of all;

We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,

And wither and perish but nought changeth thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,

Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;

All laud we would render: O help us to see

'Tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.

And who said the Left are anti-religious?

A work of true genius - thanks!

I can only surmise the inclement weather has given you the time to construct such a complex piece!

10/10!

Hello peeps, sorry it took me all day to get back to your kind comments. Sundays, hey? Thank you one and all.

GV, oddly, it took only about an hour. I'm surprised,frankly, that it even took so long, but there are some phrases even Googling can't seem to locate, such as:
"Government ministers take upon themselves the mantle of Godhead without actually knowing how people work very much at all," or "'Teenage boys have no free will, no minds, no need to be responsible and will not be held to account,' announced all-knowing and all-forgiving criminal justice authorities today."

Opsimath: thank you - with oak leaf clusters!
However, as any comparison between the subject of the original hymn and the subjects of my parody is so great (and our owners are so shameless in their venality and pride),that all I had to do was search and plod and copy.
Fish in a barrel, really - which is how they see us subjects/taxpayers/sheep.

That was excellent - I know what you mean about 'fish in a barrel' - certainly a target rich environment, except in the US of course, where politicians are scrupulously honest. grr.

Welcome back, LSP,and thanks for your comment. I see you haven't lost the British art of bitter irony in crossing the Pond.
