Money talks...
…and murder walks?
Mercy? And for whom?
I know that it’s complicated, and there are hard moral choices that a bankrupt government has to make to get new tax revenues in and to assure ‘British’ jobs, and I don’t know if his conviction was sound – though it was real conviction. But where does this leave the United Kingdom, morally and diplomatically, when you remember that only the ruling classes of Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavia give a hoot about doing the liberal thing where bucks and blood are concerned?
But when even President Obama accuses us of being soft on terrorism, what’s happening here? I’m guessing oil for blood, but is that all? What does this tell our bitter enemies in Islam: that we can be bought off for a while, so they can do what they will?
At the very least, what does this say of our careful, procedurally-based and studied criminal justice system and how handy it is to take a drink with Mandy?
No answers from this smart-arse conservative this morning as I contemplate the possible sighting of a new colour in the Union Flag – one which it might have recently acquired in Iran.
Lord help us all.

Oil for blood is probably more like it.
It's utterly sickening - there is no such thing as British justice with these loony lefties in office.
