'Kurosawa & Kurosawa' said Alice

Ran and The Seven Samurai?

Ahem. I'll get my coat...
But seriously folks, I do love the montage from the Magnificent Seven when the oppressed peasants are on the hunt for mercenaries to help them fight off the bandits, and as each killer is hired they add up the total like a game of paper,rock,scissors. Or the spoof from the original and Ben Elton free Black Adder. To date (D minus six) we have offers or definite maybes for next Monday's Culture Wars festival of freedom fun and dexterous drama from the following stars of the blogosphere;

One serious Edgar, ..

..a half or a maybe Subrosa

..an interested Julia – but will she bite? ..

..a definite Goodnight Vienna who’s playing Monteverdi’s L'Orfeo over at his place and is therefore way ahead of the game…

..and the bells are ringing for Pavlov’s cat – it must be supper time in PC’s world...

So, whether you want to nominate Aragorn's speech before the gates of Mordor for rabble-rousing freedom kick of the decade, or tell us why the Sistine Chapel ceiling says it all about civilisation and why we should keep it...

...or if you simply want to fantasize publicly about tying Tony Benn up and making him watch every single episode of Sharpe, followed by The Professionals, then please let us know you'll be with the programme and terrifying and intimidating the Left's culture like two huge terrifying and intimidating things...

Screwtape Letters, anyone?

Will there be a banner for it, as for 'Silly Week'? If so, I'll link to it.

I don't know how, and can't figure it out in the time given.

So I'll suggest #culturewarstheculture as a tag, and if you would be so kind as to add a link to my original page I'll put that at the top of my blog for interested parties to link to.

Well, I'm no great shakes as a graphic artist, but I've managed to knock up a little banner image to replace the 'Silly Week' one on my blog, and added the link to your first post on it.

I'll try and sort something for each day of next week - book, film, painting, comic and...something else!

Thank you so much Julia!

And now I've got to think of something beyond Monday.

Darn it...
