DVD advertising trailer

In a world where dreamers know only nightmares... One post stands between life and perpetual night...

The first time... it was silly...

The second time it was good...

Next time...it could be art...

In a world where the jokers are destroying so much that's good, could we maybe spend a few minutes next Monday to celebrate a particular work of art; a film or a novel, a song, poem, sculpture or play that exemplifies something or other that we stand for, rather than blog against?

Thanks to the Internet even a link to - for example - the last battle scene of Zulu [hooray!], or the Amazon reviews of The 300, or reprint If or something else that upholds or demonstrates or even alludes to something we are actually in favour of, such as freedom or country or marriage or faith or courage.

So who's up to contribute one post in a week's time to celebrate something that's good and great in entertainment, art and culture; for example to compile a schedule for freedom's film festival, or to suggest titles for the fiction section of liberty's library, or a day's television to make Polly Toynbee cringe and Osama bin Laden weep in horror? Or just to highlight one particular beautiful, good and true work of grace and inspiration?

I suggest that we include works of fiction only, or fictionalized accounts of real events if you will.

Coming soon to a blog near you...

Culture Wars I : The Culture.

I'll be very happy to advertise and eventually link to people's' contributions as soon as I can on Sunday night/Monday.
If you want to apread the word, please link to this very post.

Please feel free to email me when you've posted and I'll do a post linking to each contribution.

For ease's sake, please include #culturewarstheculture as a tag for those who just can't wait for such a list.

Part Two is here. and we now have:

One serious Edgar, .

a half or a maybe Subrosa

.an iterested Julia – but will she bite? ..

..a definite Goodnight Vienna who’s playing Monteverdi’s L'Orfeo over at his place and is therefore way ahead of the game…

..and the bells are ringing for Pavlov’s cat – it must be supper time in PC’s world..

…and hot off the press today [Wednesday 5th August] we have the Tanzanian Tabby Tabulator with a purring maybe!

...And now The King himself. A little more action and conversation...

You suggest fiction? Well, I am certainly for imaginative fiction ... how about a collection of the 'recently-discovered' birth certificates of President Obama? You wouldn't believe how many different nationalities he has acquired recently now that the Republicans have realised that if he isn't a 'natural born' American, he can't be President. Trouble is, if he isn't President, how can they impeach him?

Oh TJ, I've yet to recover from my efforts yesterday. Still waiting for the lovely thank you from GV too. :) I'll give this some consideration but I do know bloggers who would do well in this field.

Kezia Dugdale is superb at book reviews for example.

Sounds like a great idea.

Count me in NNW and I'll do my best.

SR - go and check my blog! I had to do some research of my own before I could post the round-up :)

Edgar, if you will, if you will... Your blog, freedom of speech and all that.
But some folks have been doing Atlas Shrugs this week,

The Silence of the Rands

Who is James Higham

Do you like that book? Or is there a film that gets you going and makes you say - 'There! That's freedom. That's what I want.'?

Just a game, just for fun... and the everlasting glory of the infantry.

SR we have chatted at your place about this, and it's volunteers only at TJ.AT and you're welcome if you can...
'It's easy if you try...'

Julia, welcome, and if you can take time off your busy schedule forensically taking the Left apart layer by layer, sifting the evidence and showing us all the blood underneath the mess, I'd be delighted to see what the sabretooth reads or views for fun.

Goodnight Vienna, with a name like that, and fresh from Positive News Day, I'm looking forward to seeing what floats your artistic boat...

How about Minority Report Is A Film, Not A Guidebook?

Other than that, I shall be participating because we are Grey. We stand between the darkness and the light.

Welcome Lord Elvis: I look forward to The Day.

I'll post something. I'm not averse to blurring fictional stuff (movies) with real politics anyway. As long as we don't have to be positive - I'll be ok.

Hi Gigits - glad to have you on board.

Negative away: it's a free Internet.

Is poetry fiction - or sculpture? Or recipes? I'd like to see the commie that comes up with anything as good as chateaubriand or Peach Melba anyway.

Or a nice Chianti...
