You say Gestapo, and I say GESTAPO

This from here.

A serving police officer named in a leaked list of British National Party (BNP) members has been sacked.

Pc Steve Bettley, of Merseyside Police, was included in the list of the far right party's entire membership register which was leaked on an internet blog.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "A Merseyside Police misconduct panel has dismissed Constable Steve Bettley after concluding he had knowingly been a member of the British National Party from March 2007 and up to March 2008."

The spokeswoman added: "In determining their findings, the panel confirmed there was no evidence that Pc Bettley had ever displayed any racist views or discriminatory behaviour in the workplace.

"The panel determined that Pc Bettley's membership of the BNP is a clear breach of lawful orders and police regulations as the party's views are incompatible with the duties and values of the Police Service."

Let's read that again, shall we?

"...the party's views are incompatible with the duties and values of the Police Service."

Here is the BNP's policies page.

Why not take a look? - it's not catching.

Now I'd like to know which of those policies is 'incompatible with the duties and values of the Police Service' , and why, and who decided that they are against what the police stand for.

Okay, you could make the argument that the British National Party is secretly a racist party - or not so secretly given what some of its leaders have said and some still say, in print and out loud. But there's nothing secret about the ill-will and brutal imperialism of the Koran, Hadith and Sira, and no Muslim police are sacked from the police for their beliefs. Of course, a majority of Muslims are law-abiding and peaceful, and so do not need to be sacked from the police. Likewise the vast majority of BNP members are law-abiding and peaceful I'm sure.

This sacking is the loss of livelihood for someone who has committed no crime, nor any professional misdemeanour - but that he has broken the politically-correct (cultural Marxist) ideological hegemony.

Instead of being politically neutral, our Police Service is now ruining peoples' lives (and wasting the cost to taxpayers of his training and that of his replacement and making our streets are less safe to the extent of the loss of one officer) by sharing and enforcing the ideology that has assaulted so much of our suffering nation and its ancient institutions.

They are wrong to have done so, and it is a threat to all our freedoms that this officer is dismissed.

Shame on them, and the leakers of the membership list. They won't feel ashamed, of course, they will be jubilant, but they represent one of our nations' powerful enemies.

But Britain holds on, being a constitutional monarchy and therefore to some degree a democracy.

Vetting public servants because of their beliefs should be done, if it should happen at all, by judicial review with objective assessment of what beliefs are and how they might effect the professionalism of each individual officer.

If applied, it should apply to all potentially or suspected ‘extremists.’

This has not been done - he's out because of his beliefs and that's that.

It's wrong. It’s not fair. It's against what our country stands for, and it should be opposed.

PC Bettley should be reinstated.

Home

I may lose at least one blog follower for this - the one with the bushy tail - but here goes.

I do not support the BNP or endorse them because I am a conservative, and as such I support the existing constitution - albeit one restored to its former, pre-EU and pre-Political Correctness good health, and the BNP presents reactionary, rather than conservative policies.

Conservatives should restore the previous arrangements - the BNP wishes to create something new to replace the cultural Marxist state and I mistrust their plans.

They plan new arrangements within the constitution and propose centralizing and statist economic policies which are typical of classical fascism (the historical ideology; let's forget about boots and black shirts and banners here.)

All that is against conservatism as I see it.

I don't support the BNP either. But they are a legitimate, legal political party, and if the Home Office wishes to debar membership of it to their staff, then it behooves them to take the necessary steps towards making them an illegal political party.

After all, what are they afraid of?

Hi, no problem NNW,
I don't restrict my meanderings to other BNP supporters blogs, as truth is to be found all over. I will certainly continue to follow your blog ;-)
I am sure there are some members of the present Conservative party who wish we were back in the pre- EU and pre-PC days, they should raise their voices more!
I don't see how the BNP policies would create 'something new'? I would be interested to hear your views on that.
I for one would certainty wish for parliamentary democracy to be restored to the people. It is Marxism-Islamism that threatens us all,and that to me is far more creepy than any Nationalist government,(apart from a fascist/totalitarian one of course, that would be just as bad!) I see a Conservative BNP alliance in the future.
(Well I can dream)

Hi Julia.
"After all, what are they afraid of?"
Their lords and caliphs, I suppose.

Hi Red Squirrel, welcome, and thanks for your comment and support.

"I don't see how the BNP policies would create 'something new'? I would be interested to hear your views on that."

Here are some examples of new things that the BNP proposes as policy.
Some are unique innovations of the BNP's or Third Way thinking, some are restoring some lost or damaged institutions but in new ways, and some are aimed at reversing very long-standing historical trends in English and British history.

The economy.
new or newly constituted.
"To that end we will restore our economy and land to British ownership. We also call for preference in the job market to be given to native Britons. We will take active steps to break up the socially, economically and politically damaging monopolies now being established by the supermarket giants. Finally we will seek to give British workers a stake in the success and prosperity of the enterprises whose profits their labour creates by encouraging worker shareholder and co-operative schemes."

Agriculture
new.
"Priority will be switched from quantity to quality, as we move from competing in a global economy to maximum self-sufficiency for Britain. We will ensure a major shift to healthier and more sustainable organic farming."

Transport
new
"Fuel tax should be cut, motorway speed limits raised, and hidden speed cameras should be banned." – nobody’s ever done these things.

Foreign aid.
new.
"We will link foreign aid with our voluntary resettlement policy, whereby those nations taking significant numbers of people back to their homelands will need cash to help absorb those returning."

Ireland.
new
"…we wish to end the conflict in Ireland by welcoming Eire as well as Ulster as equal partners in a federation of the nations of the British Isles."

Defence.
new-ish...
"We will close all foreign military bases on British soil, and refuse to risk British lives in meddling ‘peace-keeping’ missions in parts of the world where no British interests are at stake –
new in the modern world
a position of armed neutrality."

new as currently proposed
"We will also restore national service for our young with the option of civil or military service."

Democracy.
Goes against a centuries-old policy of centralizing power.
"Power should be devolved to the lowest level possible so that local communities can make decisions which affect them."

Whether they will work as advertised is another issue and not to my point here which is to draw lines between conservative Right-winger, such as mine, and third Way Right-wingery, such as the BNP's.

I describe the BNP as 'reactionary' because the arrangements you wish to install are not merely intended to reverse the Marxist/PC/EU/Islamist revolution and putting Britain back into its previous constitution, but to create new institutions which further support the BNP's stand of economic independence( or isolation, depending how you see it.)
Again; it's not my plan to criticise these at this point, but to point out where they differ from what deep-down conservatives would seek.

And of course, I use the lower case for conservatism and set it apart from the confused and self-contradictory policies of the present Tory party which is about half a blend of liberalism and internationalism.
The other half is OK, but is not in charge, alas.

it's either banned or compulsory Hi again.
"does this Officer have any chance at an employment tribunal."
Ye gods, I surely hope he has and that he sues them for the McPherson-stained shirts off their collective backs.

I'm often struck that today's centre-left regards SWP membership as harmless idealism whereas BNP members are the footsoldiers of Sauron's dark army.

Hi Dave H.
Welcome and thanks for your comment.

Yes indeed. The centre-Left's imagination (with honourable exceptions)is a closed book.

The Bolsheviks murdered 20 - 35 millions depending on who you listen to [with Trotsky demanding the instigation of slavery under the name of 'militarization of labour' and not quite getting his wish], the Red Chinese about 75,000,000, and Pol Pot about on third of his country's population, plus bitty bits of millions in Cuba and Africa and Eastern Europe and South America and other parts of Asia, but somehow those 100 to 140,000,000 people aren't quite as dead to the Left as the 12,000,000 dead of the Nazi death camp and pogrom activity, and scores od thousands dead in Italy's wars and local brutalities.

Only pinkos bleed, it seems.

And as for maybe 240,000,000 dead from Islamic aggression and slavery, well, that took 13 centuries and probably didn't happen at all.

Not to the centre-Left.
Nothing to see.
Move along, please.

ie American bases, not impressed with that idea.

Yes indeed.
US might and money have kept Western Europe safe since 1945.

This kind of independence / isolationism is perfectly consistent with the BNP's economic policies of self-sufficiency over food and manufactures - autarky as an extreme case or mercantilism, and of course with their plans for population and immigration controls.
It does seem to ignore the long-term threat of an Islamized European continent or even a nuclear-armed Middle eastern Islamist tyranny such as Iran or Pakistan facing us down.

We'll need rifle weight and top cover and a huge navy to be self-defending and I can't see the tax base in such a country supporting such force levels anywhere near as well as collective security.
